  Bryan Ramey

  Partner

  Bryan Ramey represents his clients in a relentlessly reasonable manner. He has never represented an insurance company, and Double Aught Injury Lawyers is devoted 100% to representing the injured. He has tried cases at all levels of South Carolina State Courts, and has argued appeals at the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court. In federal court, he has tried cases in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. He has also appeared pro hac vice in Michigan trial court, and at the Michigan Court of Appeals. He completed his undergraduate education at Clemson University in 1986, earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics. In 1991, he received his law degree from The University of South Carolina School of Law. During his third year of law school, he was Regional Champion of the National Trial Competition sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers, et al; and received the Lewis F. Powell Medallion for Excellence in Advocacy. In 2000, the National College of Advocacy honored him as an Advocate; and as a Fellow in 2007. In June 2008, he was elected to the Board of Governors of the South Carolina Association for Justice.

  Samuel Harms

  Partner

  Samuel Harms is an owner and founding member of Double Aught Injury Lawyers. He is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and North Carolina. Mr. Harms spends most of his time at work helping people who have been hurt on the job or in a car crash. He also helps people who are looking for justice because they have been done wrong by another person or business. Samuel was raised in a farming community, and he had a pet goat. In high school, he made money harvesting potatoes and working as a gas station attendant at a full-service gas station. He was on the football team, swim team, and golf team. His senior year, he was the captain of the swim team. Mr. Harms was also a member of the yearbook staff and the speech team. His senior year, he was voted most studious. After high school, he moved to Los Angeles and worked his way through Occidental College stocking shelves in the school library and working on the college’s irrigation and ground’s crew. He spent his summers loading and unloading trucks in a lumber yard. He played on the varsity water polo team and wrote articles for the school newspaper. In 1994, he graduated from college with a degree in psychology. Samuel knew he wanted to be a lawyer since elementary school. In 1997, he graduated from Regent University School of Law in Virginia. His final class rank was 1 of 102 graduates. He graduated with the highest honor, summa cum laude. In law school, he was elected twice to student government. He was the vice-chairman of the law school and then the chairman of the law school. He studied law for one summer at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Because of his class rank, he was invited to join the Regent University Law Review as a staff writer. A Law Review is a legal publication that prints scholarly articles on behalf of the law school. During his final year of law school, he was the Articles Editor of the Law Review. When he was not studying, Samuel was the director of intramural sports for the University, and he clerked for Judge E. Preston Grissom in the First Judicial Circuit in Virginia. He met his wife in law school, and they got married in the law school atrium the day after graduation. After graduating from law school, Mr. Harms clerked for two years at the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. for Special Master Richard B. Abell. He worked on the cases filed by parents who wanted compensation for their child’s vaccine-related injury or death. Since 1999, he has represented people injured by another people or businesses. In addition, Samuel is an Allied Attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) – an organization that advocates for religious freedom. With ADF, he represents people who are treated unfairly because of their religious beliefs. In 2005, the Attorney General of South Carolina appointed Mr. Harms as a Special Prosecutor to prosecute criminal domestic violence cases on behalf of the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.
